Obituary

Rose Mary (Aerts) Coenen, 70, of De Pere, WI passed away surrounded by loving family. Today we’re saddened by the loss of our wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. Rose was born to the late Alfred and Dorothy (Klika) Aerts on July 16th, 1955. She graduated from Wrightstown High School and Wisconsin School of Cosmetology. On June 7th, 1980, she married Deacon Don Coenen and they had one son, Casey Coenen. He brought so much joy to Rose’s life. Rose was a hairdresser for 44 ½ years. She also worked part-time at West De Pere School kitchens.

Rose enjoyed doing crafts and decorations for the different seasons. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She always enjoyed a good laugh, and her wish was that Father Paider would tell a joke at her funeral even if it wasn’t a clean one! Rose’s faith was very important to her. She helped decorate church for over 35 years.

Rose is being greeted in heaven by her parents, her in-laws Earl and Marguerite Coenen, four brothers Ronald Aerts, Jerry (Bonnie) Aerts, Dennis Aerts and Leo (Mary) Aerts. Also proceeded in death by three sisters Mary Jane Smith, Carol (Melvin) Liebergen and Norma Aerts and one niece Nicole Ver Baeten.

She is survived by her loving husband Don, son Casey, one sister-in-law, Mary Aerts, brother-in-law Ron Smith and Don’s siblings, Ted (Sally) Coenen and Mary Pat Van Dyke (John Zellner) and nieces and nephews that will miss their favorite “spicy” aunt.

Rose sends a special thank you to Gail Stupka, Linda Miller and Becky Merkl for all the phone calls and love they gave her over the years. She could not ask for better friends.

Rose’s last words to Don today:

Today our great love story comes to an end. We’ll kiss and say goodnight as we always did until we meet again, I love you. I always thank you for loving me and taking such good care of me – Wifey
