Obituary

Rose Mary (Patton) Manning, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed peacefully into heaven at age 99 and a half on Friday June 24, 2022. She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1922 in the town of Glenmore, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Josephine (Quinette) Patton. Rose Mary married James C. Manning, Jr. on May 10, 1947 at St. Francis Xavier Church in De Pere. They were married for 29 years when Jim passed away at age 58 in 1976. Rose Mary attended school through 8th grade, graduating from the Kiley School in De Pere. She was very proud of earning her G.E.D. at the age of 58. Prior to marrying, she was a maid for several families and also worked for Norcor Manufacturing. After their marriage, Rose Mary and Jim lived in Green Bay, then moved to a farm in rural Pulaski, and later moved into the village of Pulaski. Rose Mary returned to De Pere in 1988. Rose Mary was a lifelong Green Bay Packers Fan and a more recent Green Bay Packers Shareholder. She was also a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. Rose Mary is survived by her children, Jim, Dan, Terry Minor (Patrick McFadden), Judy Nyline, Pat, and Tom (Charlotte), sons-in-law Jim Belleau, Bob Minor, Matthew Wolk and Terry Nyline, daughter-in-law Beth Manning, 31 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Clifford Berg, sister-in-law Lucille Patton, and many, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, infant sons, Carl and Edward, her daughter Sue, her parents, her mother and father-in law Annette (Heuvelmans) and James Manning, Sr., sisters and brothers-in-law Edith (Levi) Carter, Catherine (Joe) Vercauteren, Margaret (Edward) Wallschlaeger, Florence (Tony) Servais, Dorothy Berg, Pat (Jack) Ambrosius; brothers and sisters-in-law Dan (Tillie) Patton, Joseph Patton, Earl (Marguerite) Patton; in-laws Milford (Ora "Elaine") Manning, Marie (Jack) Verhagen, Lucile (Stanley) Danelski, Kathleen (Edward) Glinski, Dorothy (Melvin) Leininger, Jeanette (Joe) Glowacki, Annabelle (John) Martin, and Richard (Frances) Manning, son-in-law Richard Schefe, and daughter-in-law Stacy Manning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Rose Mary at 11 AM on Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, WI by Rev. Fr. Michael Ingold. Family and friends may visit at the church from 9 AM to the time of mass. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Rose Mary's family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Rose Mary's care team and hospice team at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. We have never experienced such kind and loving care, both for Rose Mary, and for our entire family. We would also like to especially thank Rose Mary's daughter Terry for being Mom's "cruise director" and life planner throughout mom's golden years, and granddaughter Kayte Wolk for being at her grandmother's side through her last two weeks.
