Rosemary "Rosie" (Bloemer) Bartels, 93, De Pere, died peacefully on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at Rennes Nursing Home. Rosie was born May 15, 1932 to the late Frank and Lena (Albers) Coenen. Rosie attended school in West De Pere and then later in life she took classes to become an LPN and worked at Green Bay area hospitals.
In 1981, Rosie married Joe Bartels and they spent 33 wonderful years together. Rosie and Joe fostered Jimmy and Elizabeth, both special needs children. In their retirement, they traveled, golfed, and bowled. Rosie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Mark (Mary) Bloemer, Lorna (Jeff) Dickert, Pete (Vicky) Bloemer, Joe (Lou Ann) Bloemer, Steve (Lori) Bloemer, and Lisa (John) Schultz. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kristy (Jeff) Dugre, Sara (Kyle) Norman, Jenna (Zach) Duesler, Stephanie (Mike) VanZeeland, Heather Wierschke, Kurt (Nicole) Bloemer, Kaitlyn (Eric) Bieszk, Heidi (Derek) Van De Hey, Kelly (Cody VanRossum) Bloemer, Hannah Wierschke and 24 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Judy Bartels.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, her brothers, Louis (Millie) Coenen, Herb (Beattie) Coenen, Fritz (Eleanor) Coenen, Clarence (Fran) Coenen, and her sisters, Agatha (Leo) Albers, Florence (Sam) Boyea, Helen (Norb) Achten, and Caroline (Ray) Lisch.
Friends and family may call on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 1305 Lourdes Avenue in De Pere. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin immediately following visitation with Fr. James Baraniak O.Pream. officiating. Interment at The Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Renaissance Assisted Living and Rennes Health and Rehab in De Pere, for all they have done for Mom over the years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be given to the Alzheimer's Association or to Unity Hospice in De Pere.
