Rudolph "Rudy" Berger, 87, of De Pere died Tuesday October 20, 2015 at the Jack and Ingred Meng Residence, Unity Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Rudolph and Margaret (Schuessler) Berger was born December 30, 1927 in Oshkosh. He married Harriet Hardtke in Oshkosh on December 21, 1958.
Rudy retired from Green Bay Packaging in 1990 after working as a supervisor for many years in Illinois as well as Wisconsin. Rudy was a wonderful husband and dad and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. He loved spending time gardening and providing a happy home for his family, which always included his German Shepherds.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet and their five perfect children, Kevon and Virginia Berger, St. Cloud, MN, Rudolph III and Teresa Berger, Batavia, IL, Brenda and George Schwechler, De Pere, Duane and Gretchen Berger, Green Bay, Gwen and Brian De Moulin, De Pere, grandchildren, Elise, Rudolph IV and William Berger, George, Andrew and Angel Schwechler, Katherine and Spencer Berger, Zachary and Nicholas De Moulin, and great grand-daughter, Dakota Schwechler. He is further survived by his sister, Anna (Robert) Dehn, sister-in-law, Sharon Berger. Preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Jo Ellen, siblings, William Berger, Eugene (Patricia) Berger, Katherine (Charles) Andressen, and Margaret (Bernard) Books.
Family and friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Avenue, De Pere from 10:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, October 24, 2015 . Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon on Saturday at the church with Father Tim Shillcox, O. Praem., officiating. Burial to follow at Nicolet Memorial Gardens, Bay Settlement.
