Ruth "Cookie" Marie Doxtator passed away January 30, 2011. Ruth was born to the late Finley and Evelyn Peters Sr. on November 12, 1934. In June of 1951, Cookie married Vernon David Doxtator. Together they raised 11 children. For many years, Cookie worked at Elderly Services in Oneida, being employed as a cook. Cookie enjoyed several hobbies in her life, especially ones as was a cook at several community weddings, and those helping at funerals in the community. Cookie enjoyed watching Pow-Wows, and especially liked to cook for those dancers. Cookie helped and loved caring foe her grandkids. She was especially kind to all animals, especially her cats, and any/all animals in the area. Cookie was a kind-hearted soul, who enjoyed helping. She is survived by her 10 children and their spouses; Mona (Matt) Ellis, Seymour, Toni Thomas, Green Bay, Ann (Doug) Haven, Oneida, Connie Cox, Seymour, Steve Doxtator, Vancouver, WA., Pam (Fred) Skube, Vancouver, WA., Gerald Doxtator, Waupun, James Doxtator, Vancouver, WA., Patti Doxtator, Vancouver, WA., and Vernon Peters (Special friend Carol), Green Bay. Her 19 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, and siblings further survive her. Cookie was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, and her daughter Carey Anderson. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere after 9am Friday, February 4, 2011 until time of service at 11am with Pastor Earl L. Smith officiating. The Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 10:30am. Immediately following the service, burial will take place in the Oneida Nation Cemetery.
