Ruth M. Staeven, 99, De Pere, passed away on Sunday morning January 3, 2016. She was born March 13, 1916 in the Town of Lawrence to the late Robert and Ida (Kussow) Schreiber. Ruth graduated from Nicolet High School, as well as Outagamie Co. Normal School and St. Norbert College. She went on to teach for 9 years at Michalson School the Town of Wrightstown and the Greenleaf State Graded School in Greenleaf. On October 23, 1946 she married Raymond Staeven at St. John Lutheran Church, De Pere. After their marriage Ruth helped Raymond farm on the Staeven Homestead on County Rd. EE.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Carla (Paul) Krueger, Mary (Clarence) Kornowske, Ruth (special friend Jim Wellner) Aerts, Ralph (Nola) Staeven, Enola Staeven, Roger Staeven, Tom (Ann) Staeven, as well as numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Raymond in 1989, her son John Staeven as well as two infant sons. She was further preceded in death by her nephew; Wayne Staeven, her siblings; Isabel Schmidt, Helen Vetter, Carl Schreiber, and Ray's family; Melvin (Martha) Staeven, Walter (Erma) Staeven, Robert Staeven and Gertrude (Ted) Verstegen.
Friends may call at St. John Lutheran Church 1700 Lost Dauphin Rd. De Pere after 9:00Am Thursday January 7, 2016.
