December 15, 1940 – May 27, 2024
Sandra J. Cornelius, age 83, passed away surrounded by family on Monday, May 27, 2024. She was born on December 25, 1940 in Oneida, WI to the late Leander and Evelyn (Hill) Danforth. She graduated from Seymour High School. Sandy married Clarence Cornelius on July 1, 1961, at Oneida United Methodist Church in Oneida, WI. They shared a wonderful life together for 62 years.
Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family, and prepared specialty meals for them as well. Some of her families' favorite meals were macaroni and cheese, gobbily goop, jello desserts, and enchiladas. She also often played board games and video games with her grandsons. She had many friends in California where she and Clarence lived for 22 years. She liked working switchboard at the Oneida Health Center for many years.
Sandy loved the Lord and had daily Bible readings. She had many different charities that she donated to including, St. Josephs Indian School, and Pastor David Jeremiah. She was a very generous woman.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Clarence, her two sons, Clarence Wesley (Rosita) Cornelius, and Matthew (Penny) Cornelius, grandchildren Joel, Christopher, Eric, Shawn, Aaron, and Stephen. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter Bonnie, her parents, and her siblings, Delphine Doxtator, Leander Danforth, Kenneth Danforth, Arlene Danforth, and Joe Danforth.
Friends may call on Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Assembly of God Church, N7321 Olson Rd, Oneida, WI 54155. The Oneida Hymn Singers song service will begin at 12:30 PM, with the funeral service to begin immediately following. Burial will occur at a later date.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Flood at Oneida Health Center, Maria Danforth in Elderly Services, St. Vincent Hospital 4th Floor and ICU, and Pastor Joel Cornelius Terry Doxtator from Assembly of God Church.
