Sandra K. Hitt, 68, of De Pere, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at a local hospital. She was born September 8, 1945 in Ashland, WI, the daughter of the late Walter and Edythe (Becker) Westlund. Sandra was a caring person who showed it in her 40 plus years as a nurse and her rehab work she did with the birds at R-PAWS (Rehabilitation Program at the Wildlife Sanctuary in Bay Beach). She was a conservationist and loved to read and garden. Sandra is survived by her four children: Katherine Erickson, Janice Erickson, David (Michelle Maleport), and Michael (Leslie Oettinger) Erickson; eight grandchildren: Jeffery West, Andrea Lambrecht, Ben Schmidt, Paula Schmidt, Meagan Erickson-Serwe, Brittany Erickson, Allison Erickson, Kielan Erickson and Paula Schmidt; brother Richard Westlund; special sister-in-law Patty Westlund; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Edythe Westlund; son James Erickson; two grandsons Stefan Eastman and Brett Erickson; two brothers Byron and David; and a nephew Travis Westlund. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 305 N.
