Shannon C. McGimsey, 64, Oneida, passed away early Saturday morning, October 19, 2024.
She was born August 3, 1960, in Marion, North Carolina. Daughter of the late Charles B. McGimsey and Irene Curtis McGimsey.
Shannon graduated from Western Piedmont Community College with a degree in paralegal studies. She later taught online courses at Western Piedmont. Shannon received a bachelor's degree from Gardner-Webb University. She worked for many years as a paralegal in Hickory, NC and Phoenix, AZ before relocating to Green Bay.
A woman of many interests, Shannon was not one to sit idle long. Shannon loved traveling with her sister Jane and brother Charles. Such places as Africa, Greece, Mexico, St. Thomas, and recently she was on a Antarctica cruise with Jane. UTV rides, discovering northern Wisconsin, enjoying sweet or twisted tea at her favorite establishment, tending to her flowers and garden, cooking, sudoku, and reading. Her two favorite pets Walter & Rowdy were near and dear to Shannon. She was always up to date on current events, going to Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packer games, and always remained a North Carolina basketball team true-blue Tar Heel for life.
She is survived by her partner Norb Elm, Green Bay, two sisters, Jane McGimsey, Yarmouth Port, Massachusetts, Sharon Falconer, Williamsburg, Virginia, and one brother, Charles McGimsey, Jr. of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Friends may call at Church of the Holy Apostles, Oneida on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 9:00AM, until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Tyler Richards officiating. Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family. To leave online condolences, please visit www.ryanfh.com.
