Stephen L. Fitz Gerald, 94, De Pere, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 13, 2011. He was born Feb 27, 1917 in De Pere a son of the late Patrick and Matie(Davis) Fitz Gerald. On Aug. 21, 1949 he married the former Myrtle Herwick and she preceded him in death on October 11, 1996. Stephen was a lifetime De Pere resident. He was a member of the Green Bay Seventh Day Adventist Church. He worked at Nicolet Paper before working his dairy farm in Ashwaubenon for 25 years then his dairy farm in De Pere for 35 years. Stephen is survived by his children: Doug (Anne) Fitz Gerald, De Pere, Lyle (Terrie) Fitz Gerald, Green Bay, Verne (Sandy) Fitz Gerald, Black Creek, and Glenn (Kelly) Fitz Gerald, De Pere; his 10 grandchildren: Erin (Eric), Steve, Jayme (Pete), Jesse (Amber), Jenny, Ryan, Ashley, Jordan, Jacob, and Hannah; five great grandchildren; siblings Matie (Kenneth) Crawford, Oconto and Raymond (Florence) Fitz Gerald, De Pere and 12 nieces and nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, wife Myrtle, grandson Matthew Fitz Gerald, and siblings Jane (Tony) Mucerino and Hazel Herwick. Friends may call from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1414 Shawano Ave, Green Bay. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at church.
