Stephen James Maufort, 77, passed away on October 30, 2024 with family by his side. He was born in Green Bay, WI, on October 19, 1947 to Elmer Maufort and Zita Dietzler. Steve graduated from Premontre High School in 1966. He began working at the original McDonald's on Shawano Avenue at age 15 and had a 50-year career as the manager. On September 17, 1976 he married Mary Farrell at St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was a charter member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.
Steve is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Stephanie Maufort, Maureen (Robb) Mommaerts and James Maufort; grandchildren, Allison and Nicholas Mommaerts; sister, Marleen Lorberblatt; sisters-in-law, Patricia Dose and Norine (Peter) Kratz; nieces and nephews, Mina (John) Teske, Clare Zipperer, Trudy Lorberblatt, Ann Ryan, Philip Maufort, and Barbara Maufort; and great-nieces and great-nephews Marti Teske, Mack Teske, Aiden Ama, Kyra Zipperer, Klayton Zipperer, John Paul Maufort, and Andrew Maufort.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Monsignor Richard Maufort and John (Patricia) Maufort; brother-in-law, David Dose; and nephews, Marty Lorberblatt and Thomas Maufort.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday November 06, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr. Green Bay, WI 54304, from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am, celebrated by Fr. Jim Dillenburg. Burial Will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
