Obituary

Theodore M. Leicht, 87, De Pere, passed away peacefully early Tuesday evening February 25, 2014 at his home. Ted was born February 18, 1927 in Green Bay to the late Frederick and Kathryn (Stern) Leicht. He graduated from Green Bay West High School, and joined the Navy. After his discharge from the service he attended UW Madison. Ted then returned home and joined the family business Leicht Transfer & Storage, where he retired as President of the company. On November 5, 1964 he was united in marriage to Nancy Vanden Busch, and in November of 2013 they celebrated 49 years of marriage together. Throughout his career Ted served on several Board of Directors in the area, such as the Green Bay Packers, Associated Bank, and Bellin Hospital. He also was a member of the T.E.C. Group, as well as numerous civic minded groups. Ted was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed feeding the deer that frequented his yard and fishing on Boot Lake at the "Leicht House". More than anything it was the time spent with his family that Ted cherished the most. He is survived by his wife Nancy, one daughter, Julie (Jim) Paulson, and his two granddaughters; Grace and Emma. Further surviving Ted is his brother Dr. Thomas Leicht of Tulsa Oklahoma, as sister in law Joan Leicht, three nieces Barb Leicht, Kathy (Steve) Gogolakis, Susan (Tom) Romanus, brother in law Dave Vanden Busch and his close friend Dave Evjue. Ted was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere after 9am Saturday March 1, 2014, until time of service at 11am. Burial will take place in Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established. The Leicht family would like to thank Home Instead as well as Unity Hospice for all of their care and concern.
