Thomas K. Heffernan, 72, De Pere, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025.

He was born August 12, 1953, in Eau Claire, WI., son of the late Patrick and Phyllis (Honadel) Heffernan.

Tom graduated from Durand High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from UW River Falls, and an associate's degree from NWTC.

In 1976 Tom was united in marriage to Ruth Powers.

Tom began his career in mortgage banking at Thorpe Finance, before moving on to State Bank of De Pere, Associated Bank, and Fairway Independent Mortgage.

He had a special love of golf, especially when he and his son Mark would hit the links, but it was the time he spent with his entire family, especially his two beloved granddaughters, that meant the most to him.

Tom is survived by his wife Ruth, two granddaughters Keira & Emelia, his brother Timothy (Barb), nephew Jacob (fiancé Ari), his aunt Darlene (Bill) Masters, daughter-in-law Melissa, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and son Mark Heffernan.

Friends may call at St. Francis Catholic Church 220 S. Michigan Street, De Pere beginning at 9:30AM Saturday, December 20, 2025. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM with Fr. Jason Blahnik officiating. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to MHO Scholarship Fund or Unity Hospice.
