Thomas Robert Hempel, 52, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 14, 1957, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Robert and Phyllis Hempel. He was a 1976 graduate of Ashwaubenon High School and lived his entire life in the Green Bay area. Tom valued and enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and neighbors. He took great pride in his home, making it comfortable and warm, especially during the holiday season. Tom is survived by his loving mother and father; Phyllis and Bob Hempel, Linda Hempel and dear friend Sue Wilson, Nancy Campbell (Brian), nieces Katelyn and Kelsey, Mike Hempel (Jill), nieces Stephanie, and Cassidy. Tom will be thought of kindly by all those who were lucky enough to know him. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere after 5pm Wednesday. A memorial service for Tom will be held at 7pm with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. The family requests no flowers or plants please. A memorial fund will be established.
