Thomas "Tom" P. Hurley, Sr. 90, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2011 surrounded by his family. He was born January 29, 1921 in Clintonville, WI a son of the late Floyd and Rose Hurley. On November 22, 1984 he married Margaret Schumacher at St. Francis Xavier Church, De Pere. Tom was an ERA Insurance agent. He was also a retired reserve Major, Vet of WWII and Korean War, a Post Commander for the De Pere VFW, Past president of the De Pere Kiwanis, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Tom is survived by his wife Margaret "Sam" Haney Hurley; children: Tom (Eilleen) Hurley Jr, Sue (Bill) Gevers, Dan (Sue) Hurley, Lynn (Jim) Paplham, Dan (Meg) Haney, Cindy (Jeff) Gilson, Jennie (Mark) Mooran, Patti (Chuck) Paine, Holly (Kurt) Scheer, John (Amy) Haney, and Becky Haney; 31 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a sister Dorothy Brandenburg. He is further survived by his nieces, nephews, and good friend Tony. Friends and family may call on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Resurrection Parish, Allouez, from 8:30 am until time of Mass. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM with Fr. Gery Meehan, O. Praem officiating. Burial of urn will follow later in Nicolet Memorial Gardens.
