Thomas J. Michiels, 64, Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 at his home. He was born November 27, 1951 in San Diego, Ca. to the late Walter and Helen (Ostrenga) Michiels. Tom had lived in San Diego, Hollywood, and Santa Monica before moving back to Green Bay 1959. He graduated from St. Mary's in Menasha, class of 1969. Tom then moved to Marinette and married Joyce Neubert, and had three children; Carrie, Aaron, and Ben. During this time he was instrumental in the startup of Coachlite Lanes, Michiels Lane Refinishing, and Michiels Dome Lanes. In 1980 he moved to Redding, Ca. and lived on a ranch for 9 years, following his passion for solar and wind generation. Tom returned back to Green Bay and started his job with Shopko Distribution which took him to Omaha, NE. where he currently resided. He loved his grandchildren, 60's classic music, sports cars, national parks, the Packers, and his double perch plates when he returned to Wisconsin. He would say, "Only Wisconsin does Friday fish fry's"! He is survived by his mom, Carol Michiels, Children; Carrie (Ed) Pouwels, Aaron Michiels, Ben (Elizabeth) Michiels, and his loving grandchildren, Dylan, Madeline. Mikayla, Marlow, and Benjamin. Tom is further survived by his siblings, Jeff Michiels, Cheri (Dave) Olson, Mike (Lisa) Michiels, Dean (Bonnie) Schoen, Cindy Schoen, Kelly (Dan) Schewe, Todd Schoen, Rhonda (Dan) Madsen, Ryan (Michelle) Schoen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by Walter "Mike" and Helen (Ostrenga) Michiels, and Lailah Faith Pouwels. Friends may call after 1:00PM Saturday April 16, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N.
