Thomas James Berken, 65, De Pere, passed away December 21, 2022 following a year long battle with cancer. The son of Ronald and Joan (Pichette) Berken was born on February 12, 1957.

Growing up, Tom enjoyed playing football, basketball and baseball. An avid outdoorsman, Tom's favorite place to be was at his cabin in Hurley, WI. He was a graduate of West De Pere High School and spent his career at Proctor & Gamble.

On May 21, 1982, Tom married Mary Pat Collette at Old St. Joseph Church in De Pere. Together, they raised three children, who Tom was fiercely proud of. Tom and Mary Pat enjoyed being with family, taking rides on summer evenings, and watching sports.

Fishing was one of Tom's favorite pastimes. He loved attending his kids and grandkids' various events. Nothing brought more happiness to his heart than his grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Pat; children, Jason (Emily) Berken, Courtney Berken and Abby (Pete) Wallendal; grandchildren, Hadley, Hudson, Piper, Knox and Sutton. He is further survived by his siblings, Cathy Moreau, Paul (Kris) Berken, Julie (Patrick) Porter, Cindy (David) Imig, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Joan; brother, Frank; and other extended family members.

Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. A family memorial service will conclude the evening at 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the spring at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established for Tom.
