Thomas Joseph "Tom" Hermsen, 61, Green Bay, passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. The son of Gerald "Jerry" and Evelyn "Peetie" (Klipstine) Hermsen was born on January 1, 1959.
Tom was the oldest of three children and loved building wooden and steel models of motorcycles, cars, and ships. He was a 1978 graduate of Preble High School. This December, forty-five years ago, Tom asked Ann Golueke out on their first date. On September 12, 1987, they were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in De Pere. Tom was employed by Super Valu Warehouse and was a longtime employee of Ambrosius Sales and Service.
Tom enjoyed riding his Harleys and piloting his boat. He also enjoyed golfing, working outdoors and watching NASCAR and the Packers. Together, Tom and Ann loved traveling, especially to Jamaica.
Tom is survived by his wife, Ann; mother, "Peetie"; brother, Bill (Wanda), uncle and aunt James and Geert Klipstine. Ann's siblings; Patti, Mary and Paul (Becky) Golueke, Karen (Jim) Seaman and Ellen (Kurt) Wilkinson; nieces, nephews and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry; sister, Debbie; parents-in-law James and Carol Golueke; and other members of his extended family.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021. A short prayer service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Deacon Mike Vander Bloomen officiating.The service will be livestreamed on the Ryan Funeral Home Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ryan.funeralhome, starting at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped care for Tom, especially in the last week. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
