IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tommy
Van Ess
August 10, 1956 – April 4, 2024
Thomas A. "Tommy" Van Ess, 67, Pound, passed away following a series of health complications on Thursday, April 4, 2024. He was born in Green Bay on August 10, 1956 to William and Nancy (Yira) Van Ess.
He graduated from Premontre High School. Tommy spent his career as a jack of all trades, starting out in the family business at Van Ess Concrete Block, then working for Columbia Machine which gave him the opportunity to travel and see the world, but his passion was antiques, where for a time he owned his antique shop Ageless Treasures.
Tommy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, boat rides around the lake, riding his Harley, any kind of little project he could get his hands on, spoiling his kids and grandkids, and of course a vodka 7 with a lemon in a tub with a big boy straw.
He is survived by his children, Billie Jean Van Ess (James Gregg) and Jason (Sarah) O'Hearn, brother Bill Van Ess, brother in law Gene Malcore, step daughter Jessica (Jason) Yantis, nieces Rachael and Abby Van Ess, Grandchildren Raelyn, Skylor, Ryker, Tyson, Ethan, Lily, Elodie, and Avianna. Along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tommy is further survived by his dog Remi and grand dogs Kato and Stanley.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Nancy, sister Sandy Malcore, Billie's mom Chris Canadeo, and family friend Karen Payette.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024 and at Brad's Wouters Front 2 on White Potato Lake 13127 S White Potato Lake Rd, Pound, WI on Saturday, April 13th beginning at 1 p.m. for a celebration of life and pot luck lunch. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Green Bay YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya.
The family would like to extend thanks to the Brazeau EMT, the staff of the Bellin Emergency Department and all of our family and friends for the outpouring of condolences.
