Vaniecia Dawn Rose Smith "Yakonuhsayenawa'ku" (She Holds the House), 22, passed away November 22, 2022. The daughter of Latakeh "Duck" and Tara (Adams) Smith was born February 18, 2000.

Growing up, "Nae Nae" loved music and was always cracking jokes. She would often say her favorite things to do were "talking s**t and chewing bubble gum." Her passion for makeup and hair led her to the Salon Professional Academy after high school. She loved helping her brothers and was very proud of her nephew.

Vaniecia is survived by her parents, Latakeh and Tara; boyfriend, Ivan Huff; siblings, Vianna, Vashantai, Vintz, VaRyeuce, Vontayveuce and Valynteno; nephew, Matthew Doxtater; grandparents, Diane Moore, Karen Adams, Paul Smith "Sugar Bear," Bev Scow and Gary (Brenda) Adams. She is further survived by her Auntie NaNa and Uncle BriBri; great-grandma Annabeth "DoDo" Ness; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her, Auntie and Godmother, Dorothy Skenandore; Auntie, Jiggy; uncles, Joey; Adams and Dwaynn Moore; friend, Cassi Lamibao; and other extended family.

Family and friends may visit at the Oneida Nation Longhouse, W370 Reformatory Road, Seymour, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Visitation will continue through the night and into Monday morning, November 28, 2022. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Oneida Sacred Burial Grounds.
