Verona M. Van Lanen, 92, De Pere passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2009. The daughter of the late Martin and Cecilia (Wilmet) Vissers was born February 24, 1917 in De Pere. On June 22, 1939 she married the late Harvey Van Lanen in De Pere. Mrs. Van Lanen was a member of the Latin Mass Association of Green Bay. She and her husband did volunteer services at St. Joseph Chapel for over 12 years with arrangements and care of linens and garments. She enjoyed family gatherings, going up north, cards, rummage sales, baking and canning. She is survived by her children; Don (Mary) Oakfield, Wi, Janice (Bob) Kobes, MI, Jim (Judy) Kansas, Jerry (Beth) Virginia, Dan (Peg) De Pere, Tom (Darlene) Green Bay, Dale (Julie) Green Bay, Lyle (Pat) Green Bay, Allen (Diane) De Pere, Kathy (Dave) Jehorek, Nevada, Theresa (Rick) Miller, Sobieski, Roy (Annette) De Pere, Carol Riemer, Indiana, Julie Van Lanen, Green Bay, and Michael, Green Bay. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren further survive her. She was preceded in death by her husband Harvey, three sisters; Agnes, Fran, and Leona, two brothers; Lawrence and Bob, as well as two grandsons; Evan and Shawn. Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4 8pm Tuesday. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30pm to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 10am Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church 1782 Chapelle Rue, De Pere. A Traditional Latin Requiem Mass will be at 11am with Fr. Hector Bolduc officiating.
