Violet "Vi" Adina (Gall) Marrick, 97, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 27, 2021. The daughter of Gustave and Emilia (Kautz) Gall was born on September 13, 1923 in Hillside, Montana and spent her childhood in North Dakota. Vi worked as a secretary for Pillsbury and Structural Steel. On April 2, 1962, she married Melvin "Mel" Marrick in Illinois. They enjoyed traveling and taking trips to see their family.
Vi loved her "little home" by the river, watching the birds, traveling to see her family. Vi was an extremely classy woman – prim, proper, and poised at all times. She looked forward to the days she volunteered at De Pere Christian Outreach where she met so many dear friends, having lunch with her church friends on Sunday, and baking her "delicious banana bread and apple crisp". Vi loved her Lord with her whole heart.
Vi is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Gall; her nieces and nephews, Nita, Char, Coleen, Patty, Joy, Kim, Dennis, Doug, Kieth, and Alan; her dearest friend, Lynda Tetzlaff and her family; and many other wonderful friends she met during her lifetime.
Preceding her in death are her siblings, Alma (Linro) Canada, Erna (Mel) Gierhart, Earline (Martin) Beckmann, Ivan Gall, Wesley Gall, Harold Gall, Wilmer Gall, Norman Gall, and Earl Gall; and some nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N. Tenth Street, De Pere, beginning at noon on Sunday, May 2, 2021. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Ted Tromble officiating. Entombment will take place on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum.
Special thanks to Unity Hospice and the many wonderful friends, including Karen Tetzlaff and Brian Pagel, who checked in on Vi over the past months, which allowed her to remain at home as long as she did.
