IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vincent J.
Mendoza
March 28, 1959 – October 14, 2024
Vincent Joseph Mendoza, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 14, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on March 28, 1959, in Chicago, IL, a son to Thomas Mendoza and Dianne Chevalier, Vincent lived a life full of love, service, and joy. He was the devoted husband of Yolanda Mendoza and a proud father to his three sons: Daniel, Vincent, and Gabriel Mendoza, and a proud grandfather of his three grandchildren: Oliver, Benicio and Athena Mendoza. In addition, Vincent and Yolanda housed and cared for several dogs including Coco, Tiny, Diamond, and Baby. Vincent is survived by his loving siblings, Margaret Delgado, Anna Mendoza, Donna Mendoza, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A man of unwavering dedication, Vincent served his country honorably as a United States Marine from 1978 to 1987. His time in the Marine Corps shaped him into the steadfast, strong, and caring man that he would become for his family and friends. His patriotism and commitment to those he loved were evident in every aspect of his life.
Outside of his service, Vincent was known for his simple joys. He had a love for Oreos, Miracle Whip, and always sported high knee socks, which became something of his signature style. But above all, Vincent cherished laughter. He had a sharp wit and an infectious sense of humor, always read to share a joke or find light in any situation. His presence brought warmth and laughter into every room he entered.
Vincent will be deeply missed by his sons Daniel, Vincent, and Gabriel, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his friends and family, and in the countless smiles he inspired along the way.
