Virgil Allen Thiele, 88, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022. He was born October 26, 1933, to the late Harold and Erma (Schneider) Thiele.
He married Iris Luedtke on August 1, 1953, at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay.
Virgil proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed at Fort Howard Paper Company for 35 years as a paper maker.
When not working, he enjoyed outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping. In addition, he spent time traveling with him motorhome, bowling, golfing, and playing cards; in particular - sheepshead. He was also an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, and he loved his Milwaukee Brewers.
Virgil is survived by his two children: Randy (Debbie) Thiele, De Pere, and Sue (Steve) Ruby, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Jeremy (Carolyn) Ruby, Twin Lakes, Candace (finance-Simon) Ruby, Ashwaubenon, Trisha Van De Hei, De Pere and Ben (finance-Elizabeth, Corey and Chase) Ashwaubenon. Seven great grandchildren; Chance, Siri, Brody, Aubrey, Ruby, Marissa and Grant.
He is further survived by his brother Larry (Liz) Thiele, sister Gloria (Elroy) Kocian.
Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, wife Iris, brother-in-law Roger Luedtke, sister-in-law Arlene Luedtke as well as an infant great-grandson, Tyler Thiele.
