Virginia "Chopper/Bear" (Allen) Jaeger, 84, Hobart, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 27, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital with her family by her side. Virginia was born on February 8, 1939 in Humboldt, the daughter of the late Louis and Bertha Allen. On February 10, 1962, she was united in marriage to Raymond Jaeger at St. Bernard Church. Raymond recently preceded her in death on March 5, 2023.
Virginia spent her childhood on the family farm in the town of Humboldt. She and Ray loved to attend church picnics and go out to supper clubs. Virginia spent many years volunteering to serve funeral lunches at her parish. She also enjoyed strawberry picking, knitting and ceramics. Most of all, Virginia had a strong faith in God and love for her husband Ray their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Patricia) Jaeger, Ronald (Lori) Jaeger, Randall (Michelle) Jaeger, RaeLynn (Michael) Kwasny; her grandchildren Kaylee, Jacob, Benjamin, Vincent, Alexander, Nicolas and Jackson.
She is further survived by her sister Judith (Gary) Guth, as well as her sisters-in-law Caroline Allen, and Anita Allen. Ray's siblings Larry (Pat) Jaeger, Helen (Ray) Kocha, Bill (Linda) Jaeger and Gail Jaeger, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Louis, and Bertha Allen; her brothers Ken (Karen) Allen, Larry Allen, Jerry Allen, Daryl Allen and Daniel Allen, as well as her father and mother-in-law Albert and Clara Jaeger.
Friends may call from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 145 St Joseph Drive, Oneida with a prayer service at 7pm to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue Friday from 9am-10:15am with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am.
The Jaeger family would like to thank her niece Teri, the staff at St Vincent Hospital and Martha, Emilie and Sam, who provided comfort and care to Virginia in her final days.
