Wendel L. Cornelius, 81, Oneida, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born February 20, 1943, to the late Arthur and Sadie (Metoxen) Cornelius Sr.

On April 22, 1977, he was united in marriage to Margaret Heath.

Always a free spirit, Wendel enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears, and spending time with his grandkids.

Wendel had worked at Vlasic Pickels, Yellow Cab, Flash Cab, Bay City Cab, and spent his later years at Oneida Bingo.

He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children; Dan (Linda), Wendel Jr. (Bobbi Jo), Stevie (Yvette), Brian, Allen (Jessica), Michelle (Richard), Sadie (Orlando), Annette (Ernest), as well as 38 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and daughter in law Amy Cornelius. Wendel's siblings; Betty Stensloff, Carol Smith, Arthur (Beth) Cornelius Jr., and in-laws, Janice (Philip), Willy, Linda, and Stevie.

Wendel was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Sadie, his stepfather Sherman Cornelius, his son Brad Cornelius, brother Robert Cornelius, and sister Marlene O'Donnell.

Friends may call at Oneida Methodist Church from 9:00AM Monday, June 10, 2024, until time of service at 11:00AM. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.
