Wesley "Wes" Smits, 37, passed away suddenly late Monday night, May 30, 2022, of natural causes. At age 6, Wes was diagnosed with a rare health condition called Evans Syndrome, which may have contributed to his death. Wes was a graduate of West De Pere High School.
He was born April 3, 1985, to Glen and Julia (Van Rite) Smits.
His beautiful daughter Macie Mae, whom he loved with all his heart, meant everything to him.
Wes, Macie, and his sister Andi had recently finished putting in a 4-acre garden and started raising baby chicks and ducks. He was hoping to get a couple calves and have his own hobby farm. An avid hunter, he enjoyed sitting in the woods for days, waiting for the Big one to come along. Wes also enjoyed trapping and helping farmers get rid of pesky varmints. Always trying new things, Wes was a hard worker, that didn't sit still to long. He had a laugh that was very much his own, and you couldn't help chuckling when you heard it.
Wes was loved by many people, and was a wonderful man, father, brother, and son. He will be terribly missed.
He is survived by his parents, Glen and Julia, sister Andi, beautiful daughter Macie Mae, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins,
Wes was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Roland and Germaine Van Rite, and Lloyd and Jean Smits, as well as some aunts, uncles, and cousins.
