IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William "Bill"
Schuyler Sr.
March 8, 1942 – October 20, 2024
William "Bill" Armand Schuyler, Sr., 82, Green Bay, passed away Sunday October 20, 2024. He was born March 8, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI to the late Serina (Sommers) and Oscar Schuyler.
Bill was employed by and retired from The United States Postal Service. Before that he helped build many of our roads from Green Bay to Chicago through his employment with the Highway Department. Bill was an Army Veteran, serving from 1964-1966 as a Rifleman and Chaplin's Assistant while stationed in Germany. Bill was a proud Life Member of the Oneida VFW Post 7784, serving on the Honor Guard and Color Guard.
Bill married the love of his life, Gladys, on December 27, 1976 in Green Bay, WI. Their vows later blessed at Church of the Holy Apostles in Oneida, WI. Together with Gladys' 3 boys, they raised 4 sons together. They were married for 36 years until her passing in 2013.
Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the hunting trips to The Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota with his son, grandson, and nephews, the Wisconsin deer hunting season, taking out the boat to go fishing, or just standing in the weeds in his waders. Bill enjoyed NASCAR, The Green Bay Packers, and The Chicago Cubs. Bill loved cars. Often, the coolest car in the neighborhood was his. Bill also loved movies. Not uncommon to find his brother, Oscar, and him at the movie theater many times a week.
Bill is survived by his sons, Bill Jr (Heather) Schuyler, Bob (Teresa) Serama, Ray (Pam) Serama, and Joe Serama; his grandchildren, Jacob Kubisiak, Jackson Schuyler, and Savannah Schuyler; his Great-Granddaughter, Alexa Stratton; a brother, Gary Schuyler; his In-laws, Harry Grigsby, Bea McCarthy, Charlotte Blaha, Dolly Campbell; special nephew, Ken Schuyler.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; his grandchildren, Nicholas Serama and Hillary Mae Serama; his parents, Serina and Oscar Schuyler; his brothers, Oscar Schuyler and Robert Schuyler; his sister in law, Telka Schuyler; Gladys' parents, Robert and Helen Grigsby; Gladys' siblings, Lois Kahles, Marilyn Gillilan, Robert Grigsby, and Jessie Reese.
Special thanks to Unity Hospice, St Mary's Hospital; and, a very special thank you to Bill's nieces Becky, Teresa, and Rita.
