Obituary

William "Bill" Henderson, 67, of De Pere, WI, passed away Tuesday evening September 2, 2014 at home. The son of the late Jim and Bette (Hibbs) Henderson was born September 21, 1946 in Champaign, IL. He attended school at Rantoul High School and Southern Illinois University , where he wrestled and played football.. On March 14, 1981 he married the former Cathy Hadler in Sibley, IL. Bill worked in sales for many years, including his career with Jay's Potato Chips, which brought the family to Wisconsin. He enjoyed spending time at the family summer home on Lake Superior. Bill enjoyed sports and was an avid Packer fan. Bill was a wonderful husband, dad and Papa, and loved watching his son's and grandson's events. He enjoyed coaching Zach's football team at St. Thomas Moore School. Bill and Cathy donated their time and talents to the St. John's Homeless Shelter. Survivors include his wife, Cathy, two sons, Zach Henderson (special friend Jordan Franken), De Pere, Stephen (Sandra) Henderson, Crest Hills, IL, one daughter, Erin (Eric) Jeltema, Green Bay and grandchildren Ellie, Audrey, Graham, Libby, of Crest Hill, IL Connor, Aiden, and Braylee of Green Bay, one sister, Kathy Weisbruch , Peoria, IL and fifteen nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Lillian Hadler, as well as Cathy's siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Charles Hadler. Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Friday September 5, 2014. Visitation will continue from 9:30 am Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church 330 So. Michigan Street, De Pere until time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am Saturday at the church with Father Richard Getchel, officiating. Please visit www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the Henderson family.
