After traveling a long and trying road, Bill faithfully answered his final calling from God to be with his family in Heaven. It was one of many calls he answered throughout the course of his blessed life here on Earth. He passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday afternoon, December 8, 2020. Born February 1, 1955 in Norman, Oklahoma and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois, Bill graduated from Maine East High School and completed his bachelor's degree at Valparaiso University. It was there he met the love of his life, Lynne Rueter. He later went on to attend Concordia University, where he proudly earned his degree in lay ministry. Although Bill hailed from Bears country, he built his home with his wife and daughters, Kristin and Kate, in Wisconsin; first in Grafton, then finally in De Pere, where he planted firm roots for nearly 25 years—and even grew to back the Packers too. A true man of character and strength, Bill led with heart in all that did. Whether in his management roles at Coca-Cola, through his leadership at Hope Lutheran Church, or in his community service as a lay minister and volunteer for Unity Hospice, Bill's compassion and warmth always preceded him. The son of Lois and the late Robert Jensen, he is also survived by his oldest daughter Kristin and Paul Simons, and his beloved grandsons Trent and Quinn; along with his brother Dave and Carol Jensen, and nieces Johanna and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his youngest daughter Kate, wife Lynne and father Robert, who all fought cancer bravely. Heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who helped care for Bill along his journey. Please know your support and compassion truly made all the difference in his world. A memorial is being held at Hope Lutheran Church in De Pere (700 S. Superior St.) Wednesday, December 16th, 2020 at 3:00pm, with visitation prior to the service beginning at 1:30pm. Safety precautions will be taken and all who would like to pay their respects are welcome. The tribute will also be accessible online for those who are unable to attend.
