William E. Kelley, 61, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly early Monday morning November 7, 2016 at his home. He was born October 5, 1955 in Eau Claire, WI. to the late James and LaVonne (Lahr) Kelley. Bill marched with the Eau Claire Boys Drum & Bugle Corps for 8 years, and graduated from UW Stout in 1977. On April 8, 1978, he married the love of his life, Marge Rohde in Eau Claire.
Bill had worked in numerous locations before settling in De Pere and raising his family. He had worked at Green Bay Packaging for 27 years in Director of Quality Management and Plant Manager Capacities. He later worked at and retired from Covaris in Menasha.
Bill enjoyed a good IPA draft beer and cheering on the Packers. He loved the outdoors, especially trips to South Dakota for pheasant hunting and the annual deer hunting trips with his father, son and friends. Bill served on the Board of Directors as VP for De Pere Select Soccer, and was a driving force behind building Southwest Park.
Above all, time with his family is what meant the most to him. Bill is survived by his soulmate and best friend, Margie, their children; James (Alicia) Kelley, De Pere, Rachel (Brad) Dohr, Manitowoc, and Sara (Deanna) Kelley, Astoria, NY. His six grandchildren; Josh, Trent, and Sophia Kelley, Aiden, Avayah, and Emma Dohr. Bill is further survived by his siblings; Patricia (Dean) Kolander, Tim Kelley (Lisa Mitchell), Sharon (Kirk) Bachmann, and his uncle Eugene (Tina) Lahr. Bill's mother-in-law Beverly Rohde, as well as Marge's siblings Bill (Ann) Rohde, Laura (Brian) Johnson, John Rohde, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and LaVonne Kelley, his father-in-law William A. Rohde, sister-in-law Tina Rohde, and "Kelsey" his chocolate lab and hunting partner.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere, from 4 8PM Thursday, November 10, 2016. A parish prayer service will be held at 7:45PM to bring the evening to a close. Visitation will continue after 9:00AM Friday at the church, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM with Fr. Benny Jacob O.Praem officiating. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere. RYAN FUNERAL HOME, De Pere is assisting the family.
Bill always had a smile for everyone, he is a real shining star.
