Obituary

Yvonne Joyce (Schuyler) Cornelius, 74, was called to the Creator on March 18, 2024. She was the oldest daughter of the late Robert C. and Alice E. (Cornelius) Schuyler. She graduated from Seymour High School and Fox Valley Technical Institute with her Registered Nursing degree in December 1979. Yvonne worked in many different fields of nursing but spent the last 19 years of her career as the school nurse for the Oneida Elementary and High Schools. She enjoyed working with the many children in the community and watching them grow into adulthood.

Yvonne married Leonard Cornelius in 1980 at the Oneida Methodist Church. She is survived by Leonard, her loving husband of almost 44 years. She is further survived by her blended family. Three children, Dawn Longhini (Milwaukee), Kim Novak (Milwaukee), and Brian (Pam) Novak (Marinette). Two stepchildren Gail Cornelius and Daniel (Cheryl) Cornelius, both from Green Bay. Two step grandchildren, Christene and Tony-Ray. Thirteen grandchildren, Austin, Cheyenne, Taylor, Skyler, Mercedes, Lindsay, Alexis, Brian Jr, Brandon, Madison, Linda, Katelynn and Kayden, three great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her four younger sisters, Annette Schuyler (Kansas), Rana Schuyler (Green Bay), Sandra Schuyler (Oneida) and Connie (Steve) Danforth (Oneida). An aunt, Jeanette Mittag (Oneida). Her nephews and Niece, Robert Smith, Paul Smith, Delia Smith, Lionel Schuyler, Quinton Schuyler, James Schuyler, Ethan Schuyler, Fox Christjohn and Quinton Schuyler, Jr. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters in law, Eleanor Bailey, Josephine (Tom) Daebler, Geraldine Cornelius, Clarence (Sandy) Cornelius, and Frank (Nancy) Cornelius. Lastly, she is survived by her extended Black Thunder family, Everett (Brenda), Edmond (Inez), "Ricky" and Michelle (Niels) (all from Green Bay). Mary, Shawn, Rose, Kristie, Holly, Cujo, and Evette of Sisseton, South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alice, grandparents William B and Mary Metoxen, Charles and Katherine Cornelius, and Anderson Schuyler. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call at Oneida Methodist church on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 from 9:00AM. Oneida Hymn Singers will sing at 10:30AM, followed by a service at 11:00AM. Burial to follow at the church cemetery. Ryan Funeral Home, De Pere is assisting the family.

The family gives many thanks to the Davita Staff on Riverside Dr for their years of care along with Dr. Kennard from the Oneida Heath Center. Lastly, many, many thanks to her sister and her family, Connie Danforth, Steve Danforth and Lionel Schuyler for all their support and care during her illness.
