Yvonne M. Kempen, 97, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Care For All Ages. She was born February 3, 1920 to the late Leo and Gertrude (Pauwels) Derouin. On September 14, 1946 she married Adrian Kempen at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She and Adrian ran the Fairway Bar from 1948 to 1953; she then was a homemaker until the kids went to High School, when she then took a job at Kmart in 1968, where she retired from. Yvonne enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, canning, bowling and her many needlework and crafts. She was active in the VFW Auxiliary, as well as Catholic Foresters. She looked forward to her daily walks with her sisters.
Yvonne is survived by her son Wayne Kempen, Watertown, Karen (Steve) Vandenack, Ashwaubenon, two grandchildren, Brian (Amanda) Vandenack, Suamico, Stephanie (Jeremy) Busch, Pulaski, and her three great grandchildren, Michaela, Brody, and Cali.
Yvonne is further survived by her sisters, Mildred Coenen, Grace Huth, Janice (Erv) Coenen, Janet (Ralph) Klipstine, two brothers in law, Clarence Vercauteren, Bernard (Pat) Kempen, and sister in law Roseann Polly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian, her son Gregg, her brother Ken Derouin, her sisters, Dorothy Vercauteren, Mary Ann Derouin, Elaine (Robert) Landskron, and brothers in law Lloyd Huth, and Dan Polly. Yvonne was further preceded in death by Adrian's family; Marvin (Olive) Kempen, Al (Stella) Kempen, Gilbert Kempen, Johanna Kempen, Bernice (Henry) Gavaert, Marie (Norbert) Jansen, Elaine (Carol) Deacon, Rev. Gerald Kempen O.Praem., Raphael Kempen, and Norman (Gail) Kempen.
Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, De Pere after 9:00AM Friday June 23, 2017. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30AM with Fr.
