George F. Garrity Jr., 79, Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 8, 2017. He was born March 21, 1938 to the late George L. and Helen (Bertrand) Garrity. On February 23, 1957 he was united in marriage to Donna Murray.
George had a lifelong love of learning, and was a Chief Power Engineer. He loved the land and was always a farmer at heart. It was his family though, that brought him the most happiness, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna, his children; Cynthia (Richard) Maufort, Robert (Lisa) Garrity, Lisa Lappen, Beth (Scott) Luedeman, Glenn (Tania) Garrity as well as 15 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. George is further survived by his siblings; Patrick Garrity, and Helen (Don) Vande Hei, and his brother in law Jim (Lorna) Nader.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Isabella, son in law Perry Lappen, his siblings; James (Betty) Garrity, Robert (Mary) Garrity, his sister in law Andy Garrity, as well as his in-laws Harold and Theresa Murray, and members of Donna’s family; Billy Murray, Jack (Mary Lou) Murray, Mary (Richard) Daniels-Nader, Kathy Bartel and Tari Witkowiak.
Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street De Pere from 4:00PM – 7:00PM Tuesday (TODAY) April 11, 2017. A parish prayer service will take place at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday after 10:00AM at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church 2270 S. Oneida Street. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM with Fr. John H.
